Fall is a season of inspiration, letting go and change – and a great time of year to get inspired about your health! As the temperatures cool and the days darken, it is an optimal time to turn inward and consider what shifts might invite greater happiness, fulfillment and peace. In this interactive workshop, Acupuncturist Lisa Abernathy and Health Coach Dana Bufalino (Kind Roots) of Blue Heron Acupuncture & Apothecary will explore the physical and psychoemotional aspects of the Metal element, which relates to the Lungs, Large Intestine and Fall season, and offer health tips to help you enjoy this transitional season.

The physical roles of the Lungs and Large Intestine mirror the psychoemotional aspects: the breath (inspiration) and excretion (letting go). While emotionally lifting one’s spirits, strengthening these organs physically supports one’s breathing, immune system and bowel movements. Plus, the Lungs govern the skin, which can be susceptible to dryness during these months of the year.

One finds a reflection of these dynamics in the natural world by observing the colder days and falling leaves. Decay is in the air, but out of that decay is born gratitude, inspiration, stillness, nostalgia, introspection and beauty. When our Metal element is healthy, we are able to appreciate the ways in which our pasts have shaped us and look forward to what is to come.

You will learn the healing and rejuvenating qualities of Fall produce (hint: repair sun damage, treat dryness and more!) + how to alter your diet to accommodate the change of seasons, what foods and spices to eat to warm up naturally and how best to nurture your body in Fall’s transition.

Your ticket includes an essential oil blend to enhance the health of your Lungs and Large Intestine.
