Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.), Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Dipl. O.M.), Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Yoga Teacher
Ashlee has been a part of the healing arts community for over 14 years as an acupuncturist, massage therapist and yoga teacher. Ashlee was drawn to Classical Chinese Medicine because it is a system that treats the root of a problem. She enjoys helping people become more comfortable in their bodies and aware that they have the capability to heal. Ashlee explains, “I like to meet people where they are at. People will heal when they are ready, and I would like to support that process.” Ashlee has experienced a number of avenues of healing, but it wasn’t until she started regular acupuncture treatments during her time in Lake Tahoe that she recognized the power of Chinese Medicine, which dramatically shifted many aspects of her health. This solidified her decision to pursue the study of Chinese Medicine.
Ashlee completed her massage trainings in Boulder, Colorado and Chiang Mai, Thailand. Her massages are meditative, balancing, intuitive, and nurturing with a rhythmic flow to create a full body connection. Throughout these years, she became dedicated to her personal yoga practice, including acroyoga. Ashlee has completed two yoga teacher trainings in California and India. Additionally, she will be teaching aspiring yoga teachers in Community Yoga’s 2018 teacher training program. You can find Ashlee’s weekly yoga classes at Community Yoga.
Additionally, Ashlee is a Co-Founder and Retreat Leader for MAHA Retreats, which offers adventure retreats in beautiful, healing settings. These retreats are a quest to pursue wholeness through immersion into the ancient wisdoms of Yoga, Meditation, Thai Massage and Chinese Medicine – including acupuncture, herbs, nutrition and essential oils. Exploring and combining these practices with adventure, playfulness and live music while reconnecting with nature guides us toward a deeper level of healing. Acroyoga practice awakens our playful nature and fosters effective communication as well as trust with others. Together, we will reflect on the power of the natural world while rediscovering joy and inspiration, grounding and connection, healing and renewal, gratitude and compassion. Reserve your spot for the next MAHA Retreat: September 18-22, 2017, at the glorious Crestone Mountain Zen Center in Colorado.
Ashlee, who grew up in South Georgia, is passionate about returning to the South after years of traveling and experiencing different cultures. She is looking forward to offering her strengths in acupuncture, massage and yoga at Blue Heron Acupuncture and Apothecary, established by her fellow Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts alumni.
“When I first came to Ashlee for treatments, I did not expect to have such life-changing results. I had previously believed that I would always have to live with issues like high blood pressure, chronic digestive issues, and frequent upper respiratory infections. They seemed to be a way of life for me unless I succumbed to taking pharmaceuticals, which I refused to do. However, I started to notice a difference in my overall health within weeks of my first treatment. After only six months of seeing Ashlee regularly, my blood pressure was normal and I had not experienced any upper respiratory issues. Ashlee has also helped me recover from many minor muscle and tendon issues which resulted from high intensity exercise that I partake in regularly. Her background in massage therapy combined with her extensive knowledge of Chinese Medicine make her a phenomenal acupuncturist and healer.“
“After trying three different acupuncturists, I stumbled upon Ashlee Dixon. Ashlee listens attentively, never rushes me and carefully and gently places needles in the proper spot. I leave acupuncture feeling relaxed and refreshed, ready to face the world. I am grateful for Ashlee’s healing skills and I highly recommend her!”
“My massage from Ashlee was the best massage I’ve ever had!!!”
