Meet Dr. Jenna
Meet Dr. Jenna ๐
Dr. Jenna focuses on understanding each person as an individual, in order to meet his or her needs. Her goal is to help people get back on their feet again, to relieve pain, and to do so naturally, with acupuncture and herbal remedies.
We asked Jenna some questions to help you get to know her better!
How did you become interested in acupuncture?
๐ I used to be a middle school teacher in an urban district. Although I loved my students, after 15 years of teaching, I burned out. During my search for a new career, I considered nursing and massage therapy. However, when I went on a tour of New England School of Acupuncture, I found it absolutely fascinating. Being able to help people is a must, but I also find East Asian Medicine inspiring and intellectually stimulating.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
๐ I love relating to people and hearing their stories. The human body is an amazing instrument with an affinity for healing itself. Human beings are remarkable, courageous, and resilient. Everyone has wisdom you can learn from.
What do you love to do outside of work?
๐ Currently, I'm learning how to handle and care for a small boat (McKee Craft). I love zooming around Charleston waters, anchoring near an island, collecting shells, and taking photos. I also love critters. At my house, we have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 guinea pigs. I love baseball (Go Red Sox!) and recently attended my first Riverdogs game.
